Strandheim Leirsted ble først til å bruke de helt unike idrettsnettene

Strandheim Leirsted was the first to use the unique sports nets

The Strandheim Christian Camp Foundation is located in Asker municipality and is governed by the Norwegian YWCA-YFUM. On their own website they describe themselves as a secluded, magical gem in the Inner Oslofjord with a unique location:

The camp site has a view of Oslo to the north and the top of Håøya to the south. Here you can swim, play football or volleyball – in addition to a host of other activities.

General manager at the camp, Marianna Xiros Villard, says she found Nofir in the (eternal) search for new nets:

– I came across Nofir after I was deliberately looking for used trawl nets that we could use for our activities out here. It has always irritated me that we have to buy new nets, when we also know that there are alternative nets out there with good quality, she says.

Strandheim Leirsted became the first recipients of Nofirs' new sports net, reclaimed from the fishing industry.

They received three nets in total: two 11-a-side football nets and a larger volleyball net. The nets were adapted to prevent people from climbing on them, and the feedback has been clear and unequivocal:

– We are very satisfied! says Xiros Villard, who believes that more needs to be done to ensure sustainable alternatives for NGOs.

– It is a clear goal for us to protect the environment and climate when choosing which products we use.

To date, Nofir has produced and delivered over 15 nets for use in, among other things, football, handball, volleyball and tennis.
